Superior Steel Fabrication strives to minimize our carbon footprint with respect to our surrounding ecosystem.  As diligent stewards of our environment, we use eco-friendly chemicals in our state-of-the-art powder coat pre-treatment process.  In 2008 in partnership with Industrial Finishes, our sister company,  we installed the largest solar roof top array in the Pacific Northwest at that time.

This 450 KW system generates close to 500,000 Kilowatt hours per year of clean energy and consists of 2,574 Sharp 175 watt mono-crystalline photovoltaic panels and 2 Satcon 225 KW inverters.  The environmental benefits of this are tremendous. Over its lifetime, the system will save over 13,000 tons of greenhouse gases or the equivalent of 1.3 million gallons of gasoline.

In our powder coat operation, we have eliminated the use of phosphates in our cleaning line and use lower temperatures to reduce natural gas consumption.  We constantly review packaging for better use of recyclable materials and for improved ways of reducing waste.
